2023 Bathurst 6 Hour Wrap Up with Lynton, Leahey, Davision BMW M3
MSB Garage was proudly on display at the biggest production car race in Australia over the weekend with fresh signage on the bonnet of the #23 BMW M3 driven by Beric Lynton, Tim Leahey and current V8 Supercar driver Will Davison.
The Lynton team have been using CIRCO Racing brake pads for many years with great success, claiming many victories, including their 2019 Bathurst 6 hour win. The car was fast all weekend. After topping the time sheets in Practice 3, Will Davison took Pole Position with a blistering lap in qualifying to be nearly half a second in front of second place. The team were also quickest in the warmup on Sunday morning.
Bathurst is always full of surprises and this years race was no different - in a race that featured a record 12 safety cars and the event’s first ever red flag. The #23 BMW lead the field away and was leading at the halfway mark, with all drivers putting in strong, clean stints. At lap 89 with only 56 minutes left on the clock, a punctured front left tyre dropped them to 15th place. With Will Davison in for the run to the flag, he drove hard and pulled out the fastest lap for the car while passing slower cars, eventually bringing the car home in 6th place after a late safety car hindered his mission. Despite the ups and downs of the race, the team never gave up and will look forward to another crack at Australia’s biggest production car race in 2024.
Well done team!
